Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series may launch on 5 August
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Fold 2 may launch on 5 August.
According to an online report. The phone is expected to be unveiled through the Unpacked 2020 digital event due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Samsung is not yet making any official announcement regarding this matter.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be the successor to the original Samsung Galaxy Fold foldable phone launched last year. It is rumored to come with a large external display, ultra-thin glass protection and S Pen support.
Samsung is postponing the August 5 date for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 phones, according to a South Korean publication report, citing a member of the Samsung Electronics staff.
“Internal discussions are taking place, but plans to hold a Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5 are being reviewed favorably,” the report states.
Samsung will reportedly not host its traditional physical unpacked event in New York, but may instead opt to launch the devices digitally.
The report, citing an anonymous industry source, said that since COVID-19 is still spreading and anti-racist demonstrations in the US are deteriorating, this year’s event is likely to go online.
Samsung in its latest Q1 2020 earnings report indicated that the Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Fold 2 are set to launch in the second half of 2020.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be priced between $ 1,880 and $ 1895 (approximately Rs. 1,44,000), and shipping is reported to start in September.
The foldable phone will have an open design resembling a book, but it will come with larger display, better camera, S Pen and 5G support.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series is reported to include three models – the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. All three phones are expected to see differences in camera and battery.
